Oh, you’re SO sensitive!!

I hope the above can be said of me!

When we allow the junk of this physical world to clog our spiritual connection to the heavenlies, we become desensitized to what the Holy Spirit is asking of us. My friends, we can raise up as a nation of prayer warriors that sees things change ONLY when we are willing to push through the resistance. The habits that draw us away from holy, pure righteousness entangle us in confusion. James 5:16 says “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective!” We must be sensitive to whatever is taking away from our walk in righteousness.

God wants to answer our prayers! He wants to minister to us and through us. Pray to be more sensitive. Ask for help to walk in righteousness. Then your prayers will penetrate the spiritual walls and get a whole lot done!

Have you heard God lately?

There are three possible responses when God speaks:

1) We do not hear Him at all (or do not recognize that it’s Him)
-We must position ourselves to hear Him (see 1 Samuel 3:8-11)
2) We hear Him but have questions or need confirmation (1 John 4:2+3 tells us to do it)
-We can ask for clarification as many times as it takes see Judges 6)
3) We ignore Him and do our own thing (See Abram and Sarai in Genesis 15-17)
-It is disobedience when we take matters into our own hands.

It’s important to know the following: If God has already given you instruction, He will not say more until it is acknowledged. If you aren’t at peace with a decision, ask for God’s clarification. Things happen in God’s timing so don’t think He forgot about you. Disobedience does not necessarily cancel God’s promise.

Understanding God’s Discipline…

God’s discipline is motivated by LOVE and it’s purpose is to draw us into prfect RELATIONSHIP with Him!

Jesus simplified what is required by us in Luke 10:25-28. He relayed that if we love God and our neighbor, we are fufilling our calling.
Sanctification is the instantaneous AND progressive act of becoming holy. Do not be too hard on yourself when you miss the mark.
Philippians 2:12-13 (Amplified version) reminds us to timidly shrink away from offense and that we cannot do this in our own strength.

This all implies that God’s discipline leads to sanctification which leads to us becoming mindful of God’s spirit in us. Our mission as Christians is to get away from the mindset that messing up always equals negative consequence. Our walk with God is ongoing and therefore wil be a process.

Don’t strive for perfection, strive to be better!

It’s Time to Change Your Mind (About Forgiveness)

You can click the link (the small title above) to listen to my first official “Becoming Ever Mindful” influenced message. I couldn’t edit the recording so you’ll have to skip some of the beginning (unless you want to know announcements for our church). I discuss atonement, justification, and righteousness as an introduction of a four-part message. (Also, at the end is the first public reading of a section of one of the chapters in my book!)
